Garden Pride Day

Join O‘ahu Queer Hiking and Lei Pua ‘Ala for a stroll around the beautiful grounds of Foster Botanical Garden. In celebration of Honolulu Pride Month, this free tour will be led by Bishop Museum historian DeSoto Brown at 10 a.m. and experienced docents at 1 p.m. On your tour, your guides will introduce you to the Wilhelmina Tenney Rainbow Shower Tree, popularly named after two lesbian women from the 20th century.

Mimosas & Marys is a monthly drag show starring singer and comedian Candi Shell, accompanied by a revolving slate of talented performers in the variety, drag and comedy scenes. This month’s theme is “Kamala-Con,” so come dressed as the vice president/presidential candidate and join the fun!

For many people, coming out to friends, family and loved ones is the first step to living life as an openly LGBTQ+ person. It’s the weekend you’ve all been waiting for! Honolulu Pride kicks off a weekend of parties and celebration. The headliner event is the Honolulu Pride Parade on Kalākaua Avenue at 4 p.m. and Pride Festival at the Waikīkī Shell at 5 p.m., both on Saturday, Oct. 19. From the 2024 Business Pride Awards to Kathy Griffin’s Pre-Pride Night Concert at Hawai‘i Theatre, there is no shortage of can’t-miss events on the docket.
