Mimosas & Marys Daytime Drag and Variety Show

Mimosas & Marys is a monthly drag show starring singer and comedian Candi Shell, accompanied by a revolving slate of talented performers in the variety, drag and comedy scenes. This month’s theme is “Mele Kalikimaka,” so don’t forget to bring your Santa gear and holiday cheer.

Hawai‘i Quilts from the National AIDS Memorial
Sunday, Dec. 1, 5 to 8 p.m.
Dec. 1 is World AIDS Day, recognizing the mission of HIV/AIDS awareness and harm reduction. Join the community for the opening night of a new exhibition at Capitol Modern, where Hawai‘i Quilts from the National AIDS Memorial will be on display in Honolulu for the first time in over 20 years. If you can’t make opening night, you can still stop by Capitol Modern to view the free exhibition throughout December.

Volunteer with Gay For Good at the Kaimukī Christmas Parade
Thursday, Dec. 5, 4 to 8 p.m.
Ensure that this year’s 2024 Kaimukī Christmas Parade stays merry and bright for all. Volunteers will register parade participants, stage parade groups in the correct order and guide participants along the proper parade route. Bring a water bottle and comfortable shoes. Safety vests will be provided for visibility. RSVP for a volunteer spot online.

Hula’s Catamaran Saturdays
Saturdays, Dec. 7, 14, 21 and 28, 2 to 5 p.m.
Mingle at Hula’s Bar and Lei Stand, then head down to Waikīkī Beach before 3 p.m. to set sail on a 90-minute catamaran ride along the shoreline. Cash-only beers and Mai Tais are available onboard, and if the weather is right, you can hop into the water to cool off. While walk-ins are available, you can pre-purchase a ticket to secure your spot.

Gay For Good Decorates the Honolulu Zoo for the Holidays
Sunday, Dec. 8, 9 a.m. to noon
Volunteer with Gay For Good O‘ahu and help deck out the Honolulu Zoo for the holidays. Gay For Good is looking for donations for paper mâché projects, specifically: used clean towels, phone books, brown bags, baskets, large boxes with no staples, wrapping paper and flour. Bring a water bottle, closed-toe shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. RSVP for a volunteer spot online.

Aloha Bears Booze Cruise

The Aloha Bears set sail for their monthly Sunday outing. Enjoy cocktails at Tapa’s Waikīkī, climb aboard a one-hour catamaran cruise with an open bar, then disembark at Bacchus Waikīkī for lunch and drinks. Hawai‘i LGBTQ+ Commission Public Meeting
Monday, Dec. 9, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
The Hawai‘i LGBTQ+ Commission endeavors to identify, research, plan and advocate for the needs of the LGBTQ+ community. Every second Monday of the month, you can join the Commission’s public meeting in person or on Zoom to participate in the dialogue. The meeting agenda will be posted at least one week before the meeting.

Dive-in Theater Drag Singalong
Saturday, Dec. 21, 6 to 9 p.m.
Join the queens every third Saturday of the month at Romer Waikīkī for an all-ages, poolside, singalong, dance-along drag show. Make your way poolside at 6 p.m. for food and drinks, then catch the show at 7 p.m.
