Independence Day is peak summer—a long weekend of cookouts and picnics with friends and family culminating in a dazzling fireworks show over the ocean. Wondering where to set up camp with your ‘ohana for the best views? Here are the places to be to catch 4th of July fireworks.

4th of July Concerts at Ala Moana Center
Thursday, July 4, and Friday, July 5, 4 to 10 p.m.
Get hyped for Ala Moana’s two-day concert series to celebrate the 4th of July. Each concert will have 5,000 free general admission tickets, so snag yours fast! More tickets will be available for purchase: premium tickets for the area in front of the stage with a private bar and restrooms, standing room only, as well as VIP tickets with an elevated viewing experience on a raised platform, private restrooms, bar and service and VIP entry.

Kailua Chamber of Commerce 4th of July Parade
Thursday, July 4, 10 a.m. to noon
Kailua will come alive with music and numerous vibrant floats designed by local businesses and organizations. Augie T. and Pete Castillejos are emceeing the parade, which promises to be tons of fun and full of patriotic spirit.

4th of July at Wai Kai
Thursday, July 4, 2 to 8 p.m.
Hit the Wave Deck for the live DJ from 2 p.m. There will be giveaways, free temporary tattoos and a bounce house. The ‘Ono Grindz & Mākeke farmers market will take over the Wai Kai lawn from 4 to 8 p.m., with a watermelon-eating contest at 5 p.m.

4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza and Car Show
Thursday, July 4, 3 to 8 p.m.
Hale‘iwa is pulling all stops to celebrate 4th of July with a vintage car show, food, crafts and retail vendors, live music, a valve cover race and a chili cook-off. The fireworks will start at 8 p.m. Since more than 15,000 people came to watch last year, it’s best to come early to snag parking and a prime viewing spot in the park.

Independence Day BBQ & Fireworks Show at Turtle Bay
Thursday, July 4, 4 to 8:30 p.m.
Head over to Turtle Bay for a special barbecue meal that consists of your choice of entrée, ranging from a dino beef rib to smoked brisket, plus two sides, two sauces and a sweet roll. The fireworks start at 8:30 p.m.

Independence Day Celebration at Schofield Barracks
Thursday, July 4, 4 to 9 p.m.
Spend the evening at Schofield Barracks with holiday festivities that include a parachute demonstration by the Para-Commandos of the U.S. Special Operations Command, performances by Jared Ming, Dita Holifield, the 78th Infantry Division Army Band and Stone Temple Pilots as well as bounce houses and games. Food and beverages will be available for sale. Stick around for the 4th of July fireworks at 9 p.m.

4th of July Celebration at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam
Thursday, July 4, 4 to 9 p.m.
Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam is throwing America a birthday party, this time with two venues. Ward Field will host the main stage, food and activities. Find the Family Area, open until 7 p.m., near the NEX Fleet Store with a petting zoo, balloon art, glitter face painting, water balloon arena and more free activities. Enjoy live music by Breland, Bryce Vine and Theory of a Deadman, and check out the Car Show & Shine. Plus, grab grinds from the various food vendors. The fireworks start after the 7:45 p.m. performance by Theory of a Deadman.

4th of July at the Hukilau Marketplace
Thursday, July 4, 4 to 10 p.m.
The Polynesian Cultural Center invites you to Hukilau Marketplace for live performances by Melelani, Koa‘uka, Tenelle and Ekolu as well as inflatables and food vendors. Bring your own umbrellas, chairs and mats. Fireworks start at 9 p.m.

4th of July Kailua Fireworks Show
Thursday, July 4, 8 p.m.
Bring picnic blankets, towels and beach chairs to sit back and relax on Kailua Beach with a superb view of the fireworks. Keep in mind that there are no reserved parking lots for the show. To help with transportation, Alexander & Baldwin has sponsored shuttles for visitors to ride from the Longs parking lot bus stop to the beach from 4:30 to 10:30 p.m.
