The only acceptable way for plastic waste to be in the ocean? In the form of Onepa‘a Hawai‘i’s sustainable beachwear. The Mānoa label uses Econyl—a nylonlike fabric regenerated from discarded industrial plastic—to make its swimsuits, boardshorts, keiki thermals and baby bucket hats. For her newest capsule collection, Ka Pō Hiwa, designer Tash Lyman-Mersereau pays homage to the dark, dreamy nature of the night sky with a bold black-on-black hibiscus print, available in styles for the whole family.
