A local “hapa” boy raised in Kea‘au on the Big Island, Dr. Paul Norio Morton decided to become a doctor when he was a fire and rescue volunteer in college in Ohio. He returned home to attend the John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) and serve his community. His love of sports, helping people, and technology have come together in his Orthopedic practice in Honolulu, West O‘ahu and Kona. Since being honored as a “Top Doctor” in 2024, Dr. Morton has experienced a huge year of growth, starting with a name change for his practice to  Pacific Bone & Joint – or “PB&J,” for short. PB&J offers a broad spectrum of Orthopedic services, and Dr. Morton still specializes in hips and knees. In addition, PB&J has added Physical Therapy at their expanded Ala Moana offices and Wiki Wiki Orthopedic Urgent Care at their Kunia offices. Dr. Morton’s mission is to provide his patients with more streamlined services for their comfort and peace of mind, and having PB&J, PB&J Physical Therapy and Wiki Wiki under one umbrella accomplishes this. Dr. Morton is the first Orthopedic Surgeon in Hawai‘i who is Fellowship-trained in Robotic Joint Replacement. His love of robotic surgery has earned him the nickname “The Robot Doc.” He believes robotic surgery is more precise, less invasive, has fewer complications, and will get his patients back out there feeling pain-free faster.  However, Dr. Morton’s  philosophy is that everyone deserves a patient-centered and individualized approach with both surgical and non-surgical treatment options presented. He will provide you with the best that modern orthopedics has to offer with rapid-recovery techniques, advanced analgesia, and cosmetic wound closure. Whether your problem stems from a sports injury, aging, or a complex trauma, his experience with challenging cases provides him with the tool kit needed to offer his patients the best possible solutions and care.
