Anticipation is building on the North Shore as we wait for wave conditions to be just right for the first competition of the World Surf League 2025 Championship Tour at Banzai Pipeline. When it’s called “on,” watch the world’s best surfers, including Kelly Slater, John John Florence and defending event victors Barron Mamiya and Caity Simmers, ride the renowned break. Celebrate the Native Hawaiian Makahiki season of plenty and peace with the whole family at this annual festival. Watch and participate in traditional games, such as ulu maika (stone disk rolling), hukihuki (tug-of-war) and ‘ō‘ō ‘ihe (spear throwing), get crafty at the art station and enjoy live Hawaiian music.
