Tuesday, November 28, is GivingTuesday, a one-day worldwide movement of generosity that enables people and organizations to change communities and the world. It’s a day devoted to doing good, and there’s no better way to celebrate this than by giving to one of the many nonprofit organizations in Hawai‘i that works to promote and enact positive change around the state.

Consider giving to the Hawai‘i LGBT Legacy Foundation on GivingTuesday this year by enrolling in our Rainbow Giving initiative, which is a monthly recurring contribution that offers a special mahalo gift for an annual commitment.

Veterinarian Dr. Will Coleman, who has chosen to contribute monthly to the Rainbow Giving initiative, shares, “I donate to the Foundation because I’m passionate about the LGBTQIA+ community and what the Hawai‘i LGBT Legacy Foundation does to support us. I recognize that as a 501(c)(3), the Foundation relies on the support of community members to be able to provide its much needed services and fulfill its mission.”

Donors like Dr. Coleman help the Foundation provide essential support and advocacy for our LGBTQIA+ and Māhū, Vakasalewalewa, Palopa, Fa‘afafine, Akava‘ine, Fakafifine and Fakaleiti/leiti (MVPFAFF) communities. The Hawai‘i LGBT Legacy Foundation’s primary goal is to increase the number of educational initiatives that promote respect, tolerance, and understanding for MVPFAFF/LGBTQIA+ people in communities, businesses and educational settings. Additionally, support will strengthen lobbying efforts in favor of laws and policies that guarantee equal rights and protections for MVPFAFF and LGBTIA+ people.
