Each episode features a guest who introduces a favorite childhood recipe and takes viewers on a journey to various destinations tied to the dish. The show explores each recipe’s history and how we can celebrate our diversity and culture through food, which brings us all together.

In the season 3 premiere, surfer and environmentalist Haʻa Keaulana fulfills her family responsibility of guarding Makaha Beach on the west side of Oʻahu and demonstrates how key food sustainability is to ensuring the island’s health. Chef Ed then joins singer/songwriter Jack Johnson on a road trip along the California coast, where they connect through a shared love for the planet and a shared concern for sustainability.

Finally, cameras follow vocalist Raiatea Helm on a two-episode journey to uncover her family tree, the source of her passion for music. She traces her roots from her home island of Moloka‘i to the salt ponds of Hanapēpē, Kaua‘i, known for one of the world’s most highly prized natural salts.
