It’s a Spooktacular October at PBS Hawai‘i
To celebrate Halloween, PBS Hawai‘i is hosting Trunk O’ Treat for Keiki Club members and Lopaka Kapanui on “What School You Went?”
PBS Hawai‘i’s annual Trunk O’ Treat, an exclusive event for Keiki Club members, returns on Saturday, Oct. 21. Held at the PBS Hawai‘i studio in Kalihi starting at 8:30 a.m., keiki are encouraged to dress up in their favorite costume, play games and receive treats at this family-friendly event. It’s a fun way for families to celebrate Halloween, and it’s available exclusively to members of PBS Hawai‘i’s Keiki Club.

It has been twenty years since the death of historian and master storyteller, Glen Grant, but his impact has stayed with us—not unlike the Chicken Skin stories he told that kept us up at night. Lopaka Kapanui, once a mentee to Grant, is now a master of the medium in his own right, blazing his own trail through the dark and mysterious, bringing along any who are brave enough. Kapanui is the foremost expert in Hawai‘i’s supernatural—that’s why it’s become an October tradition for PBS Hawai‘i’s audio podcast “What School You Went?” to tap his expertise, bringing you unsettling new tales every Wednesday this month:
- October 4 – Hale Mokihana
- October 11 – Waialae Drive-In
- October 18 – The Most Haunted Building in Honolulu
- October 25 – Pu‘uiki Cemetery
Listen to “What School You Went?” online or anywhere you get your podcasts.
