Chinatown 808 is set to ring in the Year of the Snake with its signature Chinatown Festival & Parade, presented by American Savings Bank, on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025. Now in its 49th year, this highly anticipated celebration promises a vibrant day of cultural festivities, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. across Honolulu’s historic Chinatown district, including ‘A‘ala Park and Beretania Street.
The Chinatown Festival runs from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., transforming ‘A‘ala Park into a lively hub of activity. Families can enjoy the ASB Keiki Fun Zone, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., featuring free bouncy houses and engaging activities hosted by Kids Hurt Too Hawai‘i and the Kukui Center. With three entertainment stages, cultural arts and crafts, and more than 50 food trucks and vendors, there’s something for everyone. The excitement continues at 4:30 p.m. with the Lunar New Year Parade starting at the Hawai‘i State Capitol lawn and winding through Chinatown along Hotel Street. Highlights include dazzling lion and dragon dances, martial arts demonstrations, festival queens, local dignitaries, and a magnificent 150-foot dragon.
To make the event even more accessible, the Hawai‘i Bicycling League will offer free bike valet services.
